Healing On The Streets

We recently prayed for an older guy who had turned up at Wellington Statue with his right leg in plaster below the knee. He had been very close to a collision between two cars and in his desperation to avoid being injured by the car crash he had fallen and after a visit to the hospital the doctor confirmed that he had broken his Fibula. All this happened on a Thursday so when he turned up at Healing on the Streets he had been hobbling about on crutches for a couple of days. He took a seat and asked us to pray that his leg would be healed. We did just that and because nothing dramatic happened he hobbled himself away.

The following Saturday he turned up again at the site, but this time without the plaster on his leg. We asked him what had happened and he said he had gone back to the hospital only to be told his leg was fine and there no need for him to wear a stookey. “The Laird has healed my leg”, he kept saying – His excitement and gratitude was there for everyone to see and he didn’t care if you heard him. In the end we thanked Jesus together and then prayed for a strengthening in his leg and for toning in his muscles so that he could use it fully and properly. Isn’t God good? I’ll take that kind of story any morning when things are going slowly because it’s a reminder that God is at work.
