New House Group in Livingston.

Our vision for the Livingston Group:
We’ve been inspired by Kathryn Scott’s song ‘Let it Come’, and this verse in particular:
 “You’ve given us authority
To see the demonstration of
Heaven’s power invading earth
We’re holding out for what we’ve heard”

We’re wrestling with the statement:
The destiny of our land is in the hands of the church and her willingness to declare the position of God in society...
Eph 1:22
At the centre of all this, Christ rules the church. The church, you see, is not peripheral to the world; the world is peripheral to the church. The church is Christ's body, in which he speaks and acts, by which he fills everything with his presence.
Where is our ‘land’ or community? ...where  your passion lies. It is where your heart quickens, where you feel an almost supernatural hunger to intervene and improve the situation
This challenges us to ask ‘where is my community/sphere of influence and is change possible?
God may have a bigger change in mind for your sphere of influence than you currently realise
Finally, a picture.
A Father and son in a canoe, the boy is there, but the driving force is the Dad! We recognise that is how it needs to be, us being involved in what God is doing, not thinking we are going to change anything in our own strength
(quotes in bold are paraphrased quotes from ‘Church Shift’ by Sunday Adelaja)

Stunning! I'm convinced this is how the church can be at it's most dangerous and influential. The book is very challenging too.
