What Are You Worth?

Someone recently shared a story at church of how someone they know discovered how much God values them.
Imagine a new born baby. If you have to put a value on there life between 1-10 what would it be?.. of course 10! Now imagine a new born baby with a serious disability? ...well that makes no difference, 10! So why do we struggle so hard to see that same value in our selves? God sees us all in that same light. We are all worth 10 to God!

This really impacted upon me in a couple of ways. Firstly it was just great to have someone tell me that God values me at the highest level and that thats not because I earned it but rather, He gave me that value.

Secondly, and more importantly, it changed how I see other people. there are many people that I come into contact with on a daily basis. Some that I work with and some that I socialise with and then there's the hundreds of people I see when I walk through town. All of a sudden I found that these people were all 10's. I had recently found some of them as valuable to me and some of them as burdens, some of them I hadn't even noticed but now I felt like I was walking around in a sea of royalty. As I walked past people on my way through town I would imagine I was placing a sticker on them saying "I am a 10!". All of a sudden I could see them how God sees them. They all looked like they were smiling. They all looked so friendly and welcoming. They all looked full of potential. I was filled with joy to be surrounded by such people. God had opened my eyes to His world and what a place it was.

Do you get caught up on prejudice and stereo types?
Why not ask God to open your eyes to see what he sees?

You're a 10!

Very interesting Max. I like your point about how this train of thought leaves you seeing others as God would see them and how that changed your perspective and outlook on everything! That's a great reminder, and a great challenge too.

Thanks for posting.

Thanks for the reminder on this, I easily lose sight of it for myself and others.
